Target Australia has inked a design partnership with international fashion designer, Jean Paul Gaultier, to launch an exclusive range of
clothing and homewares next year.
The Jean Paul Gaultier for Target range includes women’s, men’s and children’s clothing as well as homewares. It follows Target designer collaborations including Missoni, Stella McCartney, Dion Lee and Dannii Minogue, as part of its Designers for Target program.
Jean Paul Gaultier has built a fashion empire internationally and is known in the fashion industry for his playful and unusual designs inspired by streetwear and popular culture.
The collection, to be launched at an undisclosed date in early 2016, will feature pieces starting from $10, and will comprises more than 100 products, including clothing, shoes, lingerie, homewares and baby and nursery items.
“Every time I’ve been to Australia I’ve been impressed by the laid back, unstuffy confidence that Australians display with their fashion – it resonates with my design philosophy and has such synergy with my own approach to fashion and style,” Mr Gaultier said.
Stuart Machin, MD of Target Australia, said the collaboration will give Australians access to high quality fashion at an affordable price.
“Jean Paul Gaultier is a world renowned designer who has made a mark in the fashion industry for celebrating creativity, diversity and individualism,” Mr Machin said.
“As a retailer, we’ve made a promise to deliver consumers higher quality fashion at lower prices. The collaboration with Jean Paul Gaultier is another example of our determination to help make quality fashion affordable for every day Australians – and we’re proud to have him join our Designers for Target program with this range.”
