Property owner, QIC, has appointed former Myer executive, Megan Foster, as its global real estate division’s GM of Retail following an international executive recruitment process.

Steven Leigh, MD of QIC Global Real Estate, said Ms Foster is widely recognised and respected for her retail industry acumen and will bring substantial insight and experience to the team.

“Ms Foster’s credentials are impeccable, and with more than 25 years of retail experience, she acutely understands the value of the relationship between our retailer partners and landmark assets,” Mr Leigh said.

“A closer relationship with our retail partners is critical to the successful operation of our centres and the delivery of our significant asset transformation program across our portfolio.

“Ms Foster’s experience uniquely positions her to call on the deep insight she possesses into retailer priorities and deliver mutually valued outcomes, galvanising our relationship with our retail partners in an empathetic and authentic way.

“We aim to listen closely to our retailer clients to understand their challenges and opportunities in order to align our strategies, and Ms Foster’s appointment will be crucial in helping us achieve this objective. I am very pleased to welcome her into this executive position within our team.”

Ms Foster’s previous experience includes group general management positions at Australian Myer where she ran marketing, brand and store development, and as an Executive Director and MD of Sass & Bide, following its acquisition by Myer.

Prior to joining the department store, Ms Foster held senior sales and marketing roles in FMCG, including 10 years at Unilever, before working for several years as a consultant to Woolworths and other FMCG companies.
